National University of Singapore

NUS evaluates foreign school qualifications by category. Start with your qualification rather than a universal SAT target.

QS 2026 · worldwide #8

Checked: . Conditions depend on programme, qualification and intake.

After school in Kazakhstan

Find your exact qualification under international qualifications; use the Other High School Qualifications category and its rules where appropriate.

Admission tests

SAT, ACT and AP requirements are not identical for every qualification. Meet your category rules and the chosen programme subject prerequisites.

Language and proficiency

English evidence depends on the school qualification. Do not confuse post-admission Qualifying English Test exemptions with application requirements.

Selection statistics

Not published in this guide: comparable statistics for the chosen programme and international-applicant category have not been verified. A university-wide admission rate must not be treated as an individual Kazakhstan applicant’s probability.

An overall admission rate is not your personal probability. No exam score guarantees admission.

Tuition and full budget

Humanities and Sciences example for 2026/27 new entrants, non-ASEAN international students including Kazakhstan: SGD 21,400/year with MOE Tuition Grant or SGD 36,650 without it, including GST. Computing has a different full rate; this is not a universal NUS price. Add housing, food, insurance and travel.

Funding and obligations

The NUS International Undergraduate Scholarship covers subsidised tuition and provides allowances. The MOE grant normally carries a three-year work obligation for foreigners; medicine and dentistry have separate obligations.

Preparation and application route

1. Choose a National University of Singapore programme and confirm that your qualification is eligible. 2. Check subject and language requirements in the official source. 3. Prepare translated school documents and the required results. 4. Work out the full budget and check any separate funding application before submitting. 5. Apply under your intake rules, then check offer conditions and visa requirements.

Illustrative example — hypothetical scenario

Hypothetical scenario: a Kazakhstan school student considers NUS. They choose the category matching their actual qualification rather than applying IB rules to an ordinary certificate. They check additional tests and subjects, then compare costs with and without the MOE Tuition Grant. They consider the post-graduation work obligation before accepting funding.
